Leaning backwards, she closed her eyes. A familiar face appeared in the dark of her mind. "No." her own voice echoed in the silence inside her head. "No." This time it slipped her lips and the sound filled the empty space around her. Those images were illusions, lies. A fantasy. Only the silence was real. Around and within her.
